EE234: Liquid Crystal Displays

Introduction to principle of operation, components and systems of liquid crystal displays (LCDs). Topics include basic LCD components, properties of liquid crystals, polarization of optical waves, optical wave propagation in anisotropic media, Jones matrix method, various display systems, active matrix addressing, and color LCDs. Prerequisite(s): course 135 and 136. Enrollment restricted to seniors and graduate students.
