AMS250: An Introduction to High Performance Computing

This course will teach a practical introduction to high performance parallel computing designed for interested STEM (or any other) students. This class introduces the concepts of multiprocessor machines and parallel computation, and the hardware and software tools associated with them via practical hands-on practice. Students will be familiar with parallel concepts and the use of MPI and OpenMP by the end of the course, together with some insight into the use of heterogeneous architectures (GPU, CUDA, OpenCL) and some case study problems.
