Mobile Sensing and Interaction

This course provides students with hands-on knowledge and experience with modern mobile computing platforms for sensing and interaction tasks. The Winter 2013 offering will be based on iOS platforms (iPhone and iPad). 

Topics covered in class include:
  • Programming in Objective C
  • Accessing image data from the camera
  • Accelerometers and their use to compute the inclination of the device
  • Magnetomers and their use for a digital compass
  • Giroscopes and their use to compute the device's attitude
  • Applications to Augmented Reality
