CMPS171, Winter 2014, Section 01: Playtest Plan Evaluation

For CMPS 171, grading of the playtest plan forms part of the overall team grade for the sprint when it is submitted.

Grading of the playtest plan is foremost based on whether the required elements of the playtest plan are present, as described in the template.

Points may be deducted for any of the following reasons:

  • Unrealistic plan for recruiting playtesters (e.g., assuming a single email will be sufficient).
  • Insufficient detail on logistics of conducting the playtests (e.g., no day/time specified, no specific location, unclear as to which machines will be used, etc.)
  • Gameplay questions with no clear description of how data will be collected to answer them.
  • Poor detail on gameplay aspects that will be the initial focus of gameplay testing (e.g., stated in a way that another person would not be able to determine what is the goal of the tests)
