CMPS272, Winter 2007, Section 01: SnowFlake

The Cellular Automata is designed on a a hexagonal lattice and the rules for the evolution of the Automata are as follows: Each cell is either frozen or not ; it stays the same at the next generation unless it is currently unfrozen and exactly one of its neighbours is frozen, in which case it freezes. Note that each cell in the hexagonal lattice has 6 neighbours rather than the 8 neighbours for the Game of Life. Starting with one initial point in the hexagonal lattice and with the evoluation of the automatas, there would be images of the snowflakes.
