CMPS272, Winter 2007, Section 01: TrafficCA

This Cellular Automaton is a generalization of the one-lane model CA. Interactions are observed between the lanes and these interactions depend on the traffic densities. If any of the lanes has a relatively low density, then this is equivalent to a model with both the lanes in the same direction. If there are only a few vehicles in the lanes then the opposing lanes can be used as passing lanes. If the densities in both directions are high, then this is the same as a single lane model.
