EE266: Optics and Microscopy

Basic principles of optics and microscopy. Topcis include geometrical optics, simple ray tracing, diffraction, Fourier optics, and image formation in the human eye, photographic camera, and different types of microscopes. Hands on experience will be provided in labs. Enrollment restricted to graduate students. Undergraduate students may be able to enroll with permission from instructor. Enrollment limited to graduate students. Undergraduate students may be able to enroll with instructor permission. Prerequisite(s): Assumes basic mathematics.
